The Evidence is Stacking Up

Think about their enemies. Who gives them the most trouble? Sure, Sinestro is a big deal. But isn't he essentially a disgruntled employee? He knows the system. He exploits the loopholes. He's the ultimate office rebel.

And what about the other powerful threats? They're often forces of chaos, actively disrupting the order the Guardians are trying to maintain. Bureaucracy's natural enemy!

Maybe the yellow weakness was just a cover story. A convenient explanation to keep the Lanterns in line. "Oh, you're struggling against this villain? Must be fear! Just focus and follow the rules, and you'll be fine."

It's a classic control tactic. Make the heroes think they have a weakness they can overcome with enough willpower, when really, they're just being hamstrung by red tape.
