Which Organization Serves As The Principal

Which Organization Serves As The Principal

Okay, let's talk. We all know there are organizations that like to think they're in charge. Big corporations, government agencies... they strut around like they own the place. But who's really running the show? My answer might surprise you.

Is it Big Government? Think Again.

We’re constantly told that the government controls everything. Taxes, regulations, speed limits. Sure, they make the rules. But do they enforce them all the time? Ever tried to drive five miles over the speed limit on the highway? I rest my case.

Politicians promise change, but things mostly stay the same. They're more like substitute teachers, trying to keep order while the real principal is out to lunch. Sometimes, they even seem confused about what class they're supposed to be teaching. No, I don't think Big Government is the real principal.

What About Giant Corporations? Nah.

Okay, okay, you might be thinking, "It's the corporations! They own everything!" And yeah, they're definitely powerful. They fund the politicians, influence the media, and sell us stuff we don't need. But they're also incredibly vulnerable.

A single viral tweet can tank a company's stock. One bad product review can kill sales. They're constantly scrambling to stay relevant, to keep us buying. They're more like nervous students desperately trying to get a good grade from the real principal.

Besides, corporations are often fighting each other. They're not united, they're competing. Think Coke vs. Pepsi, or Ford vs. Chevy. They spend more time battling each other than actually running things smoothly. Again, I don't think those Giant Corporations qualify.

The Media? Close, But No Cigar.

The media certainly tries to tell us what to think. News outlets spin stories, pundits pontificate, and influencers influence (duh). But even they are subject to something bigger. Their viewership and readership.

Plus, who decides what's "news" in the first place? The media? Sometimes it seems so random and skewed in one way that it is hard to trust the news as it comes in. So, are those the people? No.

So, Who IS the Principal, Then?

Here's my controversial opinion. The real principal? It's... us.

Yep, you heard me right. It's the collective "we" of society. Our habits, our beliefs, our desires, our little everyday choices.

Think about it. What determines what products corporations sell? Our buying habits. What determines what politicians get elected? Our votes (or lack thereof). What determines what the media covers? What we click on and share. Our attention.

We, as a collective, have the power to make or break companies, elect (or oust) politicians, and shape the narrative of the media. It's a slow, messy, often unconscious process. But it's happening all the time. We are the collective consciousness of a society.

It sounds a little scary. And maybe a little empowering. Whoa.

Our collective decisions create a weird, unpredictable, and sometimes downright illogical society.

So, next time you see a corporation making a questionable decision, or a politician saying something ridiculous, or the media pushing a bizarre narrative, remember: they're just trying to please the principal. They're just trying to figure out what we want.

The joke is on them. If only we knew what we wanted...

Maybe that's why things are so chaotic. We are the principal of the society, but we all have different ideas on how to run it. It's like letting a class of kindergartners take over the school. The result? Utter chaos.

But it's our chaos. And maybe, just maybe, that's the way it should be. Now, if you excuse me, I'm going to go make a decision. Maybe I will buy a donut, or not. You never know what I will do.
