Forever Red Power Rangers

Okay, Power Rangers fans, let's talk. Let's talk about the legendary, the iconic, the utterly amazing… Forever Red.
I know, I know. It's practically sacred ground in the Power Rangers universe. Ten Red Rangers, all together, fighting evil? It's the ultimate fan service. But… (deep breath) …is it really all that?
The Hype is Real...Maybe Too Real?
Don't get me wrong. The initial shock and awe of seeing all those Red Rangers on screen at once? Unmatched. As a kid, my head almost exploded. I mean, Tommy Oliver and Andros? My tiny brain couldn't handle the awesomeness.
Must Read
But now, looking back, through the slightly less-sparkly lens of adulthood... something feels a little off. It’s like that dessert you were SO excited for, but after the first few bites, you realize it’s just… too sweet. Too much.
The Andros Problem
Let's be honest, Andros is great! But a huge part of "Forever Red" focuses on him. This is not a knock on the fantastic Christopher Khayman Lee who played Andros. Instead, the episode feels like a Lost Galaxy reunion with a bunch of guest stars. This kind of feels like he gets more screen time and focus than some of the other Reds. Poor Jason and TJ are standing around, looking like they wandered into the wrong party.

Speaking of which…
Where’s Everyone Else?!
For an episode titled "Forever Red," some of the Rangers are... kinda just there. Like, "Hey, remember me? I was a Red Ranger once!" They get a line or two, maybe a quick fight scene, and then fade back into the background.
It’s like they invited everyone to a potluck but only brought chips and dip. Fun chips and dip, sure, but still. We want the whole buffet, not just a snack!

And let's not even get started on Cole. Seriously, what did he even do in that episode besides look confused?
I know coordinating schedules and actors can be a nightmare, but it does feel a little like a missed opportunity. We were robbed of great interactions! Imagine if the Turbo Red Ranger got to have an meaningful exchange with Tommy or Jason!
The Villains? Oh, Right, There Were Villains
The Machine Empire remnants are… fine, I guess. They're not exactly the most compelling villains in Power Rangers history. Remember General Havoc? Yeah, me neither, until I Googled him. They feel like placeholders for a more interesting threat.

It almost feels like they just needed a reason to throw all the Red Rangers together, and the plot suffered for it. "Evil robot guys are back!" Okay, sure. Whatever gets the Rangers morphing.
An Unpopular Opinion, But I Stand By It
So, here's my "controversial" opinion: "Forever Red" is overrated. Yes, it's a fun, nostalgic romp. Yes, seeing all those Red Rangers together is undeniably cool. But it’s not the masterpiece some people make it out to be.
I am prepared for the outrage. I know Power Rangers fans are passionate (and rightfully so!). But maybe, just maybe, some of you secretly agree with me.

Perhaps the Power Rangers team-up episode of your dreams has a completely different ranger team? I know my dream would be seeing more of the Green, Black, Blue, Yellow, and Pink Rangers getting involved and helping save the day!
Let's face it, some Power Rangers episodes are amazing; others are kind of… well, let's just say they're good for a laugh. And "Forever Red" is somewhere in the middle. A fun, flawed, and slightly-too-hyped episode that's still worth watching... just maybe with slightly lower expectations.
What do you think? Am I crazy? Or is "Forever Red" not quite as perfect as we remember?
