Ark Single Player Settings

Alright, friend, so you're venturing into the wild, wonderful, and sometimes terrifying world of Ark: Survival Evolved... solo! Good on you! It's a fantastic game, but let's be honest, the standard settings can be a bit… intense. Think 'grind-until-your-eyes-bleed' intense. But fear not! Because Single Player Mode is your oyster, and we're about to crack it open and sprinkle it with some delicious, custom-made settings.
Think of single-player Ark as your own personal dinosaur theme park. You're the zookeeper, the ride operator, and the gift shop manager all rolled into one. And, most importantly, you get to decide how much you want to sweat while building that thatch hut.
The Big Three: Taming, Gathering, and XP
These are your bread and butter, the holy trinity of Ark single-player settings. Get these right, and you'll be off to the races!
Must Read
Taming Speed: Crank this baby up! Seriously. Unless you enjoy spending three real-life hours staring at a unconscious dino while feeding it narcoberries (and let's be honest, nobody really enjoys that), bump this up to at least 3x, maybe even 5x or 10x. You'll be thanking me later. Imagine, a whole pack of raptors tamed before your pizza gets cold!
Gathering Yield: Do you like swinging an axe at a tree for an eternity and getting only five pieces of wood? Didn't think so. Increase this to at least 3x or 5x. You’ll spend less time farming resources and more time… well, doing literally anything else, like building your dream castle or punching a Dodo (don't judge).

Player XP Multiplier: Leveling up unlocks engrams, which are basically the blueprints for all the cool stuff. Faster XP means faster access to awesome tools, weapons, and buildings. Pump this up to 2x or 3x. You'll be crafting a metal pickaxe and riding a Pteranodon in no time! Just try not to crash into any mountains, okay?
Creature Comforts: Difficulty and Stats
Okay, now for the slightly more nuanced stuff. Don't worry, it's not rocket science. Unless you're building a rocket in Ark, in which case, good luck!

Difficulty Offset: This determines the maximum level of wild creatures. A higher difficulty means tougher dinos, but also potentially better loot. Start with something around 0.5 or 1.0. If you’re feeling particularly brave (or foolish), crank it up and face down level 150 Alpha Raptors. Just don't say I didn't warn you!
Player Stats Per Level: You can customize how much health, stamina, weight, etc. you gain with each level. If you find yourself constantly running out of stamina, boost that up! If you're carrying around more rocks than Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, increase your weight capacity. This is all about tailoring the experience to your playstyle.
Dino Stats Per Level: Similar to player stats, you can adjust how much health, damage, etc. your tamed dinos gain per level. Want a super-powered Rex that can obliterate everything in its path? Go for it! Just remember, with great power comes great responsibility… and a lot of raw meat to feed it.

Advanced Settings: Because Why Not?
Feeling adventurous? Dive into the advanced settings! There are tons of options here, from disabling diseases to adjusting the day/night cycle. This is where you can really fine-tune your Ark experience.
Disable Structure Placement Collision: This lets you build structures closer together and in more awkward places. Perfect for creating those aesthetically pleasing (or hilariously impractical) bases.

Allow Flyer Carry: This lets you pick up your friends (or annoying Dodos) with flyers. Immensely useful, and occasionally hilarious.
Day Cycle Speed Scale: Want longer days and shorter nights? Adjust this setting! Just be careful not to make the days too long, or you might get bored. Unless you really, really like sunshine.
The Most Important Setting of All: Fun!
At the end of the day, the best single-player settings are the ones that make the game fun for you. Experiment! Tweak things! Don't be afraid to mess around and see what works. There’s no right or wrong way to play Ark, as long as you’re having a good time. So go forth, survivor, and conquer the island (or just build a really awesome treehouse). The choice is yours!
